WOW! I really loved this place! Since it was my first time to visit a Hana's I read the reviews of both of the Hana's; yes there are two in town. I also asked a group of ladies at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center and they said they prefer the one on Keyser. So Keyser location it is.
I arrived at 4:30 and was the first one there. I was asked where I would like to sit. I explained it was my first time and I would be dining alone so they could seat me where they saw fit. My server, Philip came over immediately and took my drink order and then when he came back we discuss suggestions for appetizers and diner and explained to me me the soup and salad selections too. Did I mention Philip was awesome!
My salad and soup came out first. The salad was a small portion with the house/ ginger dressing on the side per my request as I wanted to make sure I liked it. Well, I loved it! The Miso soup was ok, not bad just not anything to write home about. The only recommendation I would have for my entire experience was that the soup could have been served hotter as it was just a little warm.
Next my appetizer, Gyoza came out, it was plated nicely and it was really good. It came with a little dipping sauce which was very good as well.
Next was my meal which was the Hibachi shrimp & scallops and came with fried rice, hibachi noodles, and grilled veggies. It also comes with two shrimp so I got two extra shrimp with my meal. First I want to say the portions were spot on and it was very very good! My shrimp was seasoned and cooked to perfection and my scallops the same. ( I have had better scallops when I was on the coast and they get them fresh from the water every day, that being said these were good and I enjoyed them). The fried rice was very good but the noodles were excellent!! The vegetables were good too ( I'm not a big veggie person).
If that wasn't enough I ordered the ice-cream tempura ( it was my birthday dinner after all). And I can't say enough how yummy that was!! I took home a doggie bag with enough food for another meal!!
Over all my entire dining experience was great from the food to the service! Thanks Philip for helping me with all my selections. Can't wait to go back and try some more selections. -

pros: steak cooked perfectly at medium, still tender
Good steak sauce, well sautéed onion
Cons: sushi rice was clearly the dregs in the rice cooker's center that get soft after a few hours. vegetables with steak besides onion were nearly uncooked despite being billed as sautéed.
Service gave wrong price, included one packet of soy sauce for 3 rolls of sushi on a to-go order, one pair of chopsticks on a clearly multi person order, bad shrimp quality, and no miso or house salad with the hibachi steak order as billed.
I was super disappointed as I had heard good things. -

I always enjoy coming here to eat and meet new people. Our chief was amazing and always playful when it came to serving us and greeting us as well. The food was very moist and well cooked. I especially loved the shrimp and the veggies which were cooked and sautéed to perfection!!!

I got sushi take out today because the reviews were decent and I had a bad craving... pretty let down unfortunately. Disclaimer: I am visiting from Washington in business and eat sushi almost every week. I found this sushi very over priced compared to food prices in this area. $25 for the two rolls that aren't that big is pretty high even in WA. And they were not good... I like a lot of sauce but the LSU roll has way too much and you can't even get it off. I threw away half of what I got so $12 in food... only reason I am giving 2 stars is because the inside of the restaurant was nice, they were fast and the young guy who took my order was friendly.
